Fishing Reports: Recent Action on the Columbia, Snake, and Pacific Waters
Trophy Fish Caught
The 2026 season is already off to an incredible start with massive trophy fish being landed across our favorite local honey holes. We recently celebrated a monumental win in a local Steelhead Derby, and that momentum has carried directly into our daily trips. Current reports show heavy activity for Winter Steelhead in the lower tributaries, while our excursions near the Pacific Ocean have seen a surge in early-season catch-and-release Sturgeon action, with many "head shakers" reaching impressive lengths. As we look toward the 2026 Spring Chinook run—which is forecasted to be significantly stronger than last year—now is the time to track real-time conditions. Whether it's a 100-pound Sturgeon or a chrome-bright Salmon, we are consistently putting guests on the biggest fish the Columbia River has to offer.
Family-Friendly Fishing Adventures
We believe that the best way to foster a love for the outdoors is through safe, exciting, and family-friendly fishing trips. Captain Josh Buttars has been on the water since he was seven years old, giving him a unique patience and passion for teaching young anglers. Our private trips are designed with safety as the top priority, utilizing our stable and spacious 25' Wyatt Water Guide Sled to ensure a comfortable ride for all ages. We provide specialized gear for smaller hands and focus on "easy-going" techniques that guarantee a fun experience without the pressure. From identifying different species to the thrill of the first bite, our mission is to provide a professional yet relaxed environment where kids can thrive and parents can relax.
Fishing Year-Round in the Northwest
One of the greatest advantages of the Snake River and Columbia River systems is the ability to enjoy world-class fishing year-round. While many regions shut down for the winter, our waters stay alive with Winter Steelhead from January through March, followed immediately by the highly anticipated Spring Chinook season. As the weather warms, we transition into high-action Summer Steelhead and aggressive Smallmouth Bass through the mid-year months. By August, the legendary Fall Salmon runs arrive, offering peak harvest opportunities. Because we navigate three distinct water bodies, we can always find a productive bite regardless of the month. Trust our decade of captaincy to guide you through the seasonal variations and provide a reliable, successful trip any day of the year.
